Kayln is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and works with anesthesia at Vanderbilt Children’s hospital. Prior to this she was a nurse for 7 years. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee and her Master’s degree at Vanderbilt University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking and traveling. She is certified in the treatment of botulinum toxins and dermal fillers and very excited to bring this service to Smile Solutions. Fun fact, she is married to Dr. Fox’s son Sam
What is Botox?
A medication used to reduce the contraction of facial muscles which reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Can be used as treatment for existing wrinkles or prevention of wrinkles in younger populations.
Where can it be used?
Frown lines, forehead creases, crow's feet, gummy smile, bunny lines of nose, chin wrinkles, lines around the lips (above lip and marionette lines).
How does it work?
Injected into the muscles, takes 2-3 days to start taking effect with full effect in 2 weeks. Last 3-4 months per treatment.

$11 unit, referral program TBD.
Who should NOT get Botox?
Patients that are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had any previous facial plastic surgery, have active oral infections, have keloidal scarring, have a neuromuscular or autoimmune disorder, pts on certain medications or allergies to ingredients in Botox, human albumin, eggs or egg products.
Preparing for the visit
May need to hold use of blood thinning medications at doctor's discretion Will need to remove make up, wipes can be provided at visit.
After the visit
Limit alcohol/ blood thinning medications
Keep head elevated for 4 hours
No strenuous physical activity for 24 hours.
